A MESSAGE FROM DR. DOUGLAS K. ROSS ...
The first weekend in February 2008, Dr Joe Cangelosi from Arcadia, both my chair side dental assistants, Sarah Williams and Stephanie Coleman and I traveled 11 hours to Knoxville, TN to participate in the Remote Area Medical Expedition to help provide dental care to those in need.
A news crew from CBS 60 Minutes was there filming and interviewing various people. The patient they focused on, who had driven from Georgia, 200 miles away, was one of those I cared for. They even went the extra distance to go to his home after the event and complete the interview at his home ... a rather brilliant, not to forget and overlook compassionate, special human touch to their reporting.
The Remote Area Medical [ RAM ] operation is definitely one of my favorite charitable operations, both personally with donations of my time and talents, as well as financial resources. They definitely function on a “shoestring” and DONATIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME !
